Coleambally Solar Farm adds 150 MW to regional NSW’s solar belt

Exporting solar into the grid

The 150 MW (AC) Coleambally Solar Farm, in southern NSW, is generating and exporting energy to the grid.

The development will generate approximately 380,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean, renewable electricity into the national power grid each year, making a major contribution to Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction.

This reduction will be equivalent to taking either 90,000 cars off the road or planting 530,000 trees, producing enough electricity to power approximately 52,000 homes with renewable energy.

Regional NSW solar belt

The project joins Neoen Australia’s growing stable of solar generators, which also includes the Dubbo, Griffith and Parkes projects in regional NSW.

Energy Australia is contracted to take 70 per cent of the Coleambally Solar Farm’s projected output.

The CEFC is investing $30 million in non-concessional senior debt finance as part of a debt financing facility.
