The CEFC has made a loan of up to $10 million available to Windlab Limited to provide the renewable energy developer with working capital as it expands its activities from project development to investment and asset management.
Windlab Limited is a Canberra-based global wind energy development company established in 2003 as a spin-out from the CSIRO to commercialise the CSIRO's world leading atmospheric modelling and wind energy assessment technology.
Windlab owns and exclusively uses this suite of industry best practice wind energy prospecting and assessment tools to identify and efficiently develop high quality wind farm sites with greater certainty and less risk. The company is also involved in developing solar and wind hybrid projects, including utility-scale battery storage.
Windlab's Australian projects include the Collgar Wind Farm in WA, Coonooer Bridge, Kiata and Oaklands Hill Wind Farms in Victoria, and the Kennedy Energy Park in Queensland.
Windlab has a portfolio of high quality wind farm development sites totaling 7,406 MW of potential capacity across North America, Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa. It has completed the development of 1,093 MW of capacity across three continents. These projects are either operating or currently under construction.
