Our investment

The CEFC has committed up to $150 million to the Octopus Australia Sustainable Investments Fund (OASIS) to support the acceleration of renewable energy projects that support Australia’s clean energy transition.

OASIS is open to institutional and wholesale investors. It draws on the development and management experience of Octopus Australia to invest in utility-scale wind, solar and battery storage projects.

A CEFC cornerstone commitment of $75 million to OASIS in 2022 was invested alongside Australian superannuation fund Hostplus.  A subsequent CEFC commitment of $75 million, in 2023, was invested alongside Rest superannuation fund.  In another major development for the Fund, Octopus Australia announced in July 2025 that one of the world’s largest pension funds, APG Asset Management, had committed to invest more than $1 billion into OASIS as part of a landmark partnership.1

The CEFC investment in OASIS builds on an existing relationship with Octopus Australia. Through a joint venture arrangement, Octopus and the CEFC have developed Blind Creek Solar and Battery Project in NSW and Fulham Solar Farm and Battery Project in Victoria, both of which were sold to OASIS in 2025.

our impact

Accelerating renewable energy to back the transition

CEFC capital is playing a leading role in driving the development of Australian utility-scale renewable generation, which is critical to delivering the clean energy needed for the transition to net zero emissions.

Octopus Australia is a subsidiary of the UK Octopus Group, one of the world’s largest and most experienced clean energy investors.

Octopus Australia has an operating and development portfolio totalling more than $15 billion across wind, solar and battery storage. Assets include the operational 275 MW Darlington Point solar farm in NSW and 181 MW Dulacca Wind Farm in Queensland.

The continued growth of OASIS is helping drive the transition towards net zero emissions through unlocking domestic and international investment to accelerate the rollout of Australian utility-scale projects.

Australia needs significant renewable energy build-out to tackle the task of decarbonising the grid and meeting our net zero targets. We are pleased to facilitate the entry of a major global fund manager into the Australian market while also working alongside key superannuation funds.
