The CEFC congratulates Team Global Express on being named overall winner for Impact in the Australian Financial Review’s Sustainability Leaders list, in addition to winning the award for Sustainability - Leader of a large organisation.

The Australian Financial Review Sustainability Leaders list celebrates Australasian companies that are making progress in tackling sustainability challenges while delivering business values.

Team Global Express was recognised for its project developing the largest trial of electric trucks in the world, winning the award ahead of more than 80 other organisations, including ASX listed companies, multinationals, early-stage ventures, public institutions and industry bodies.

Judges considered environmental and social impact, technological innovation, strong company culture and stakeholder engagement. Entrants were shortlisted by experts from Schneider Electric, and winners were selected by a wider judging panel, including representatives from the AFR.

The CEFC committed $30 million to the project in 2024 to help drive down heavy transport emissions, one of the hardest sectors to abate.

As one of the largest multi-modal transport and logistics operators in Australia, Team Global Express operates across all four transport modes of air, road, rail and sea.

CEFC Head of Infrastructure, Julia Hinwood said: “Team Global Express is a key industry player in the logistics sector, and they have consistently demonstrated leadership in moving towards the decarbonisation of their business. Team Global Express sets an example for other freight, logistics and fleet businesses to take up the challenge to support the adoption of battery electric vehicles and electrification in hard-to-abate sectors.”
