The Tiwi Islands plantations project – Australia’s largest First Nations-led carbon initiative
The CEFC is investing alongside, River Capital, in a landmark First Nation-led plantation forestry initiative in the Tiwi Islands, owned by the Tiwi Plantations Corporation and managed by Midway Pty Ltd. The plantation initiative will generate high-integrity Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) and timber, as well as deliver substantial economic benefits for the Tiwi community, including training and employment opportunities.
