Tenants are moving in to SGCH’s latest development delivered as part of the Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) Phase 1.
The 31-apartment complex at 255 Hoxton Park Road, Cartwright was financed by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and will become home to people who are on the social housing waiting list or local key workers.
The building has a 7-star Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS) rating with features including high performing glass and insulation to floors, walls and ceilings, shading to windows, ceiling fans and solar panels.
These environmental features help tenants reduce their household running costs and, for SGCH, saves building operation costs, allowing the investment of savings in providing more housing and services for customers.
CEFC Community Housing Sector Lead Victoria Adams said: “It’s great to see our finance in action with SGCH’s progressive roll out of new energy efficient, comfortable homes. These apartments clearly demonstrate the benefits that building low energy homes can bring to families in the community housing sector.”
The six-storey building has a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments. Tenants will pay affordable rents based on income and the area’s market rent (approx range $). As part of the SAHF program, households in this development will also be offered tailored support coordination services to assist with access to services and opportunities that improve their wellbeing.
SGCH currently manages almost 300 properties in Liverpool and the Hoxton Park Road is the first of eight developments that SGCH will deliver in the area.
